Installation and usage:

I have converted one T400 and eight X200’s, and I learned a lot in the process. I tried several external flashers, including:

  • BeagleBone Black (didn’t work for flashing, SPI kernel module seems to have had a strange bug)
  • Orange Pi One (succeded where the BBB failed, as long as it ran Armbian)
  • NanoPi M1 (my favorite of the three, very cute and fun with much potential)

Now I can flash the remaining T400 and X200 internally with any upgrades as needed. Since the original conversion project, I have recompiled the ROMs for each machine to eliminate the annoying beep when inserting/removing the power cord. If I were to do it again at this point, it would be to enable password protection in the GRUB menu, perahps.
